OCLC study--surveys, interviews, etc., of people that live in communities that serve under 200,000 people
some reasons people fund libraries
--people who fund library aren't necessarily the people who use the library
--no predominant group supports funding
--people do have a frame of reference for what the library does for them--libraries are about transformation, not information
so, what does transformation mean?
what would transformational space look like? transformational programs? what kind of collections?

reduce rules
look at where we can find our niches
go back to our communities and talk to others librarians and bringing them together
remember community online
grassroots discussions started by each of us
